Who we are
Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association
"Swimming is not a sport, it’s a lifestyle."
The Gibraltar Amateur Swimming Association (GASA) was founded in 1946 and although it has enjoyed a rich sporting history, it came from very humble beginnings. The majority of its activities were carried out in the surrounding sea except on the odd session in military and hotel pools.
Today, swimming is a very popular activity on the Rock. The Gibraltar Government recently completed a world class 52m pool in order to host the 2019 Island Games. This state-of-the-art pool was built by Myrtha and will be handed over soon for use by GASA and the general public.
To promote the sport of swimming in Gibraltar.
Swimming should be accessible to all.
Provide the network and platform to all swimmers and waterpolo players to achieve their goals.
